Photography with Sketches

The idea of this tutorial was to integrate different medias. Hand drawn sketches, water colored textures, and a posed photograph.

Before getting started with the actual Photoshop part, it is best to gather the rest of your materials first. Sketch out different images that you want to work with. You will also want to use some water colors to add some textures to the image. Another option is to gather the images you need from online. Which could be a lot easier and faster.

Sketching, taking the photograph and painting yourself will be much more beneficial for your skills. However, it really isn’t necessary unless you are using this technique in a professional job. If it is a professional job, it would be simply  much easier to do all the work yourself without having to check each image for the copyrights.

The tutorial itself is fairly easy to read through and do. The only real hiccup I was coming across was using the pen tool to create the vines that wrap around the model’s body. I decided to by past that step and continue on with the tutorial.
